Happy New Year! Hard to believe it is 2010!
Hopefully everyone has unburied themselves from all the snow and had a great Holiday. Don’t worry if you haven’t received your annual dues notice for 2010, and no you didn’t lose it in a snow bank, it is been delayed so look for your notice in late January.
2010 is going to be an exciting year. We are looking to do some fun things this year. Those who attend meetings will not only get the chance to network but also win some prizes. We will be giving away 2 Conference Tickets to this year’s WAA Conference and Tradeshow in October in LaCrosse winner will need to arrange own transportation and lodging. Those who attend the meetings will also have a chance to win a free AANW Membership for one year (Winner will still be responsible for WAA Due Portion). If you bring a guest to a meeting a special gift will be awarded for bringing a guest.
For another learning opportunity the Fox Valley Apartment Association Meeting on Thursday January 14th will be Brian Murry CPA – “The financial aspects of owning rental property, proper bookkeeping, and tax strategies”. Meeting is at Capital Center in Appleton starting at 6:15.
Don’t forget to sign up for the Christmas Holiday Party which will be our January meeting. This will be a fun time to remise about 2009 and a chance to get to meet the New 2010 AANW Board. Please complete the signup sheet in the newsletter to attend.
New meeting location for 2010. We will be meeting at 2750 Ramada Way. Starting in February we will have appetizers at 6:00PM with meeting starting at 6:30PM.
Attention all maintenance workers and landlords who may repaint or renovate where lead-based paint may be encountered (pre-1978 buildings) in learning how to work in a Lead Safe manner. This class meets the EPA new criteria for the policy that is coming into effect April 2010. Sign up today to attend Thursday, January 14th, 2010 from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Class size is limited to 40 people. Cost is $260 and you register directly with Milwaukee Lead. See flyer in newsletter to register for this training. A must for any landlord with a pre 1978 buildings.
Our friends at Brown County Multifamily will be hosting the Fire Department to discuss the latest information on the carbon monoxide detectors see flyer in newsletter to sign up.
